Academic Competitiveness Grants (ACG)

Beginning fall 2006, the Academic Competitiveness Grants (ACG) are available to first-year and second-year students who are also receiving the federal Pell Grant. First-year students can receive up to $750 in addition to their Pell Grant while second-year students can receive up to $1,300. To be eligible, the student must be a U.S. citizen, must have completed a rigorous high school program of study and must be enrolled full-time in the first year or second year of a two-year or four-year degree program. First-year students must have graduated on or after January 1, 2006; second-year students must have graduated on or after January 1, 2005. In addition, second-year students must have a grade point average (GPA) from their first year of at least 3.0. Additional information is available on the federal student aid site. The Academic Competitiveness Grant is no longer available as of July 1, 2011.
