Beginning fall 2006, the Academic Competitiveness Grants (ACG) are available to first-year and second-year students who are also receiving the federal Pell Grant. First-year students can receive up to $750 in addition to their Pell Grant while second-year students can receive up to $1,300. To be eligible, the student must be a U.S. citizen, must have completed a
rigorous high school program of study and must be enrolled full-time in the first year or second year of a two-year or four-year degree program. First-year students must have graduated on or after January 1, 2006; second-year students must have graduated on or after January 1, 2005. In addition, second-year students must have a grade point average (GPA) from their first year of at least 3.0. Additional information is available on the federal student aid site.
