A message from the campus:

On behalf of our faculty, staff and students, thank you for your interest in Cameron University.  At Cameron, students are the heart of our commitment; Cameron is all about every student and every story. 

 

Cameron stands confident in the education it provides and of the competency of its graduates – in fact, Cameron guarantees it!  “The Cameron University Guarantee” provides additional education, at no expense to the graduate or employer, to any graduate who enters the workforce and whose employer identifies a deficiency in core employment areas in the graduate’s major field of study.  This guarantee is unique to Cameron.  No other Oklahoma college or university, and very few universities nationwide, guarantee the quality of their graduates.    

Our commitment to providing financial support to students is evidenced by the significant increase in resident tuition waivers, private scholarships and university scholarships. Resident tuition waivers and university scholarships have increased by over one million in the past ten years.  Additionally, private scholarship support has increased an impressive 189 percent in the past eight years.  More Cameron students are receiving scholarships than ever before, and those scholarships are in higher amounts.  

These efforts have resulted in national distinction for the university.  As evaluated by U.S. News & World Report’s annual “Best Colleges” publication, Cameron University has ranked in the top three universities in the nation in low student debt for the past four consecutive years.  Specifically, this fall Cameron University ranks number three in the nation out of 626 regional universities with our students graduating with the lowest debt – 68 percent of Cameron students graduate without any debt.

The university continues to assist students by helping to reduce the cost of textbooks.  The support includes a textbook check-out program known as Check It Out ü Books which makes textbooks available for check out in the CU Library. The program was implemented to help defray student expenses and has been well received by students.  Additionally, in 2010, the Cameron University Bookstore launched “Rent-A-Text,” a textbook rental program to further reduce the cost of books.     

I invite you to visit our campus in person.  Cameron’s skyline has been transformed, with over $55 million in capital improvements in the past eight years.  Each project has been completed with the goal of enhancing student learning and students’ collegiate experiences while better serving the community.  These improvements augment an already beautiful campus to combine small classes, excellent faculty and the finest in student housing to produce a truly unique university atmosphere.  Cameron University is large enough to offer the programs students want yet small enough to call home.

Undergraduate Applicants

First-time freshman applicants must submit the following:

  1. This online application must be completed as thoroughly as possible. When you are finished, click the SUBMIT button on the left column of any application screen. Print the application agreement statement that appears after you submit the application. There is a nonrefundable $15 application fee. You will need to mail a check or money order to the address listed under Contact Us or submit your payment online.
  2. An official high school transcript indicating class rank, graduation date, and cumulative grade point average or an official GED score report must be submitted. Official college/university transcripts must be submitted if courses were completed while still in high school.
  3. If your official high school transcript does not include your ACT or SAT scores, you must provide an official ACT or SAT score report to Cameron.

First-time freshman adult applicants (students who are 21 years of age or older) must submit the following:

  3. First-time freshman adult applicants must take computerized placement tests in the areas of English, reading, and mathematics. ACT/SAT scores are not required.

Army active duty undergraduate applicants must submit the following:

  1. The common application for admissions at https://www.earmyu.com.
  2. An official high school transcript indicating class rank, graduation date, and cumulative grade point average or official GED score report.
  3. Official transcripts sent directly from each college/university attended, including evidence of degrees earned.
  4. First-time freshman active duty applicants must take computerized placement tests in the areas of English, reading, and mathematics. ACT/SAT scores are not required.

Unaccredited high schools or home study programs whose high school class has graduated must submit the following:

  1. This online application must be completed as thoroughly as possible. When you are finished, click the SUBMIT button on the left column of any application screen. Print the application agreement statement that appears after you submit the application. There is a nonrefundable $15 application fee. You will need to mail a check or money order to the address listed under Contact Us or submit your payment online.
  2. An official high school transcript indicating class rank, graduation date, and cumulative grade point average or an official GED score report must be submitted. Official college/university transcripts must be submitted if courses were completed while still in high school.

Transfer undergraduate applicants must submit the following:

  1. This online application must be completed as thoroughly as possible. When you are finished, click the SUBMIT button on the left column of any application screen. Print the application agreement statement that appears after you submit the application. There is a nonrefundable $15 application fee. You will need to mail a check or money order to the address listed under Contact Us or submit your payment online.
  2. Official transcripts sent directly from each college/university institution attended, including evidence of degrees earned.
  3. An official high school transcript indicating class rank, graduation date, and cumulative grade point average or an official GED score report must be submitted. Transfer applicants who have earned 24 or more semester hours of transferable college-level credit at the time of application do not need to submit a high school transcript.
  4. If your official high school transcript does not show your ACT scores, you must provide official ACT or SAT scores. Transfer applicants who have earned 24 or more semester hours of transferable college-level credit at the time of application do not need to submit ACT or SAT scores.

Official ACT or SAT scores achieving a minimum ACT score of 20 or SAT score of 890.

Graduate Applicants

First-time graduate applicants must submit the following:

  1. This online application must be completed as thoroughly as possible. When you are finished, click the SUBMIT button on the left column of any application screen. There is a nonrefundable $15 application fee. You will need to mail a check or money order to the address listed below or submit your payment online.
  2. Official transcripts sent directly from each college/university institution attended, including evidence of degrees earned.

Non-degree-seeking graduate applicants must submit the following:

  1. This online application must be completed as thoroughly as possible. When you are finished, click the SUBMIT button on the left column of any application screen. There is a nonrefundable $15 application fee. You will need to mail a check or money order to the address listed below or submit your payment online.
  2. An official transcript from the institution where the highest degree was earned.

International Applicants

International students

An international student who is applying for first-time admission to a United States university or who has attended another United States university and earned fewer than 24 semester credit hours must submit the following documents before an I-20 will be processed. International students may want to review the Cameron University International Information website at: www.cameron.edu/admissions/international.

  1. This online application must be completed as thoroughly as possible. When you are finished, click the SUBMIT button on the left column of any application screen. There is a nonrefundable $35 application fee. You will need to mail a check or money order to the address listed below or submit your payment online.
  2. International undergraduate students must provide evidence of completion of secondary school (high school). An official transcript translated into English must be submitted. Applicants from a Caribbean country will need to submit a certified or original copy of a CXC report. Applicants from a West African nation will need to submit an original copy of a WAEC report or new scratch card with examination number, examination year and type of examination.
  3. Official transcripts of all university work completed outside the United States must be provided. These transcripts must be translated into English and evaluated by an approved credential evaluation service. These services can be located on web at www.wes.org or www.jsilny.com.
  4. A copy of the page (or pages) of your passport that indicate your complete name, country of citizenship, passport number, and passport expiration date must be submitted.
  5. An affidavit of financial support and six months of current bank statements or a statement from a bank that indicate the availability of funds to attend school for at least one year.
  6. International students for whom English is a second language must present evidence of proficiency in the English language. Undergraduate applicants must achieve a minimum score of 173 on the computer-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), a minimum score of 500 for undergraduate on the paper-based TOEFL, a minimum score of 61 on the internet-based TOEFL, or a minimum score 6.0 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Graduate applicants must achieve a minimum score of 213 on the computer-based TOEFL, a minimum score of 550 on the paper-based TOEFL, a minimum score of 79-80 on the internet-based TOEFL, or a minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS. Official examination scores must be sent directly from the testing service to Cameron University.
  7. Official SAT score report must be provided to Cameron if students are less than 21 years of age.
  8. International students who are transferring from another United States high school or university will need to complete and submit a transfer form.

Instructions

To complete this online application, type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be reentered prior to submittal.
