Mars? Campers will work in various teams to solve
unexpected challenges throughout the week! There will be
engineering problems to solve including robotics and
electronics. You might learn how to work with sensors
and other electronic circuits. Campers will experience
basic emergency care of fellow colonists using nursing department
mannikins. In the microbiology lab campers learn basic
techniques for identifying bacteria. You will program mobile
robots to compete in challenges. You will also solve more
human problems such as teamwork and governing the colony.
An important part of the camp is to encourage students to
consider college. They will experience college life using
regular visits from campus advisors to help them explore possible
career pathways. Students will take home some of their
materials and books. Students will also learn soft skills
associated with interviews and the business and academic world.

Camp Biomed, a STEM Summer Academy held at Northeastern State
University Broken Arrow from June 20th to 24th, 2022.
Participants will create glowing bacteria after they isolate,
amplify, and introduce jellyfish DNA into bacteria. They will
learn about Microbiology and Molecular Biology and how these fields

Exploring Renewable Energy: A summer STEM camp will engage
students in hands-on learning with experts in higher education and
professionals in the field of renewable energy. Hosted at
Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, students in grades

Camp dates are May 30-June 2, 2022 (middle school, entering grades

operating nacelle, experience with simulators and a climbing tower,
and see an operational wind turbine. Students will learn
about the generation and use of electricity and be introduced to

Through water rocket and balloon launching, environmental
modeling, and more, the PI-STEM Summer Academy will engage incoming
8th-9th graders in experimenting and problem solving in

participant will receive a TI-84CE calculator and a t-shirt. This
day camp will be held from 9am-5pm over June 6-10 on

The University of Central Oklahoma Department of Engineering and
Physics will offer the UCO Future Engineer Summer Academy, two
separate 5-day, non-residential sessions of hands-on activities and
science projects. The academy will be geared toward students in the
transition years between middle and high school. The main
objectives are nurturing participants' critical thinking skills,
promoting diversity and constructive team climate while stimulating
creativity and imagination. Attendees will work in teams to design,
build, test, and improve upon their projects to compete with others
in a series of design projects in fields of aerodynamics, steam

The Earth Cycles: The Geology of Carbon, Water, and Life
residential academy will provide rising 8th, 9th, and 10th graders
a rich, hands-on experience in learning how geologic processes
(rock cycle, water cycle and carbon cycle) impact our Earth and our
society. We will also study past life (fossils) to learn how
these cycles have altered Earth in the past. Finally, we will look
at environmental problems and how these natural cycles of air,
water and carbon are changing in recent times. During the week,
students will be exposed to various STEAM fields to show students
future meaningful careers across a range of environmental and
geological sciences.

summer for students who enjoy using technology to solve puzzles and

visit Tulsa's underground tunnels, The Gathering Place, the Tulsa

technology academy for students interested in computers and
GPS-related technologies. Students will use hand-held GPS receivers
for data collection at TU and during field trips, then process the
data to create interactive GIS maps. Video will be collected for
MovieMaker; chat rooms and journaling will be done with Blackboard;
GPS scavenger hunts and geo-caches will use ArcVoyager; Escape
games, swimming and other recreation will occur daily as well as
group presentations. Students will use technologies such as
ArcVoyager, PowerPoint, Comic Life, Powtoons, Google Drive, Kahoot,

food come from and how did it get there?" during a 5-day
residential camp, held either June 20-24 or July 11-15.
Campers will follow the progress of food from the garden to the
kitchen to the pantry, learning fundamental cooking techniques as
well as the science behind the how and the why of these
techniques. Campers will tour local farmer's markets and
farms to collect produce and fruit. It is an invaluable
experience because they live on campus, explore college-life, and
they take home the "spoils" of the camp to share with family.

High school students will study and experiment with coding and
robotics. Students will learn fundamental computer science with
Brown University's Pyret language and development environment.
Following the CS fundamentals and the engineering design process,
students will then apply their knowledge to the Lego Mindstorms
Robot Inventor kit to research, design using 3-D printers, test,
and debug their robots. The final project will include a
design competition of the completed robots. The robots will compete
as they navigate an obstacle course. Academy participants will also
engage in non-STEM activities to encourage team building and
self-assurance throughout the week. As the week ends students will
reflect on their team design process and their own personal growth
journey during the academy. The students will present their week to
fellow academy participants, family, faculty, sponsors, industry,
and the community.

Do you want to learn how to build and program an aquatic drone, to
learn how DNA is used to solve crimes in Forensics or to learn
about the physics of amusement parks? If so attend
NanoExplorers: A High School Summer Science Academy, a ten-day
residential STEM academy at Cameron University scheduled for June
12-17 and 19-24, 2022. You will check in on Sunday
night, June 12, and spend the week learning about nanostructures
and nanotechnology. You will visit Frontier City in Oklahoma
City on Friday, June 17 and meet your parents in Oklahoma City or
Lawton and go home for the weekend. You will return on Sunday
night, June 19 and spend another week building circuits, learning
about polymers and how we characterize a stream or lake as an
environmental chemist. On Friday, June 24, we will have
closing activities which will include power point presentations, an
academy quiz bowl, chemical magic shows, preparation of home-made
ice cream and academy evaluations. In the evenings you will
learn about careers in nanotechnology, participate in social
activities including swimming, basketball and Laser Tag. The
activities will be designed to introduce the concept of
nanotechnology and will include applications in both chemistry and

farms to collect produce and fruit. It is an invaluable

High school students will study and experiment with coding and
robotics. Students will learn fundamental computer science with
Brown University's Pyret language and development environment.
Following the CS fundamentals and the engineering design process,
students will then apply their knowledge to the Lego Mindstorms
Robot Inventor kit to research, design using 3-D printers, test,
and debug their robots. The final project will include a
design competition of the completed robots. The robots will compete
as they navigate an obstacle course. Academy participants will also
engage in non-STEM activities to encourage team building and
self-assurance throughout the week. As the week ends students will
reflect on their team design process and their own personal growth
journey during the academy. The students will present their week to
fellow academy participants, family, faculty, sponsors, industry,
and the community.

night, June 12, and spend the week learning about nanostructures

City on Friday, June 17 and meet your parents in Oklahoma City or
Lawton and go home for the weekend. You will return on Sunday

about polymers and how we characterize a stream or lake as an
environmental chemist. On Friday, June 24, we will have

robotics. Students will learn fundamental computer science with
Brown University's Pyret language and development environment.
Following the CS fundamentals and the engineering design process,
students will then apply their knowledge to the Lego Mindstorms
Robot Inventor kit to research, design using 3-D printers, test,
and debug their robots. The final project will include a
design competition of the completed robots. The robots will compete
as they navigate an obstacle course. Academy participants will also
engage in non-STEM activities to encourage team building and
self-assurance throughout the week. As the week ends students will
reflect on their team design process and their own personal growth
journey during the academy. The students will present their week to
fellow academy participants, family, faculty, sponsors, industry,
and the community.

The Department of Housing, Design, and Merchandising at Oklahoma
State University will offer its 1st Summer Academy in the Mixed
Reality Lab which is equipped with state-of-art Virtual Reality and
3D printing equipment. The Summer Academy will offer a 5-day Design
Thinking workshop for high school students entering grades 10
through 12 in the next academic year (2022-2023). The Design
Thinking Summer Academy will introduce students to sustainable
spatial design through a series of culturally and regionally
responsive project-based learning experiences. The Design Thinking
Summer Academy aims to provide students with the requisite

again offering an exciting two-week Summer Science and Mathematics
Academy for high school sophomore through seniors interested in a
university experience like no other. SSMA will be located on
the SWOSU campus from Sunday, June 5 (move in) to Friday, June 17,
with participants living in dormitories, dining in cafeteria, and
taking classes in a variety of science content and communication
areas. Laboratory and field experiences will enhance the
participants' problem-solving skills. During the second week,
participants will be involved in a problem-solving competition. If

students about careers in electrical and mechanical engineering
through hands-on projects, interactions with industry
professionals, and group activities. Students will experience

vehicle construction and applications, including drones. Students
will present their experiences and participate in follow-up

ESTEEM-Builder for Emerging Careers: 2022 High School Summer

This five-day commuter program aims to broaden participation
in Environmental Sustainability, Forensic Science, Technology,
Engineering, Eco-social science, and Mathematics (ESTEEM). High
school student participants will be provided with opportunities to:
(1) explore emerging careers (e.g. data science, bioinfomatics/gene
editing) via site visits at the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation,
Fusion Center, and Edmond Police; and (2) interact with
professional mentors who will job shadow and share their
educational experiences. Students will also perform fun and
stimulating activities (e.g., processing a crime scene via VR and
conduct virtual interviews via metaverse, simulation, AI, and
machine learning). Data Science will be focused to help student
learn relational databases with real-world contexts and
multidisciplinary contents. Upon completion, student will receive a
stipend of $100 and a digital badge to start building their
academic portfolio and digital resume.
